WHITE MAGIC – Solo (New York)
White Magic is artist, vocalist, pianist, percussionist and composer Mira Billotte. Performing with accompaniment or solo with hand drums, shruti box, effects, and with an array of acapella songs, White Magic has a wide range of sound, from loud psychedelia to meditative trance, the focus is on the voice with Folk, Soul and Spiritual music at it’s roots.
Mira had her musical beginnings performing and composing for Quixotic along with her sister, Christina Billotte (Casual Dots, Slant 6), recording two LPs produced by Guy Picciotto of Fugazi.
White Magic has released numerous recordings, with the label Drag City, including “Through the Sun Door” EP, “Dat Rosa Mel Apibus” LP and “Dark Stars” EP, recording with musicians including, Jim White (Dirty Three, Cat Power), Tim Koh (Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti), and Douglas Shaw (HighLife, Gang Gang Dance).
Other recordings include, Bob Dylan’s ”As I Went Out One Morning” produced by Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) for the soundtrack album (Columbia) for the film ”I’m Not There” directed by Todd Haynes, the ballad ”Long Time Ago” with producer Hal Willner for the compilation album ”Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys” (Anti-), and the limited original recordings ”New Egypt” for Southern Records Latitudes series and the most recent release ”Out Beyond the Moon” for the split 7″ with Cass McCombs out on Famous Class.
Mira Billotte has also created limited releases for her label called The Mysteries, pressing the White Magic 7″ vinyl ”White Widow” single, which includes a B side cover of Jefferson Airplane’s ”White Rabbit”.
White Magic has headlined tours of the US and Europe extensively, and also has toured opening for Animal Collective, Sonic Youth, Joanna Newsom, and Will Oldham.

NEUTRAL (Göteborg, Omlott)
Neutral är Sofie Herner (Källarbarnen) och Dan Johansson (Sewer Election). Tonsatt diskbänksrealism via gitarr, trumpet, bandloopar och sång som skapar en dissonant helhet där frisinnat LAFMS-stök möter Brainbombs-liknande monotoni och iskall Utmarken-stämning. Musik endast ett litet steg ifrån att totalt falla ihop. Neutrals debut-LP släpps på Göteborgsetiketten Omlott (Peter Brötzmann, Peeter Uuskyla etc) senare i år.
