DON VITO (Leipzig)
Don Vito are a Leipzig three-piece that bash out playful and naive yet shrill and abrasive noise|rock.
It sounds like the soundtrack to a cartoon children’s disco in a steel factory. The moment Don Vito let a bit of chaos out of the sack all appendages within hearing distance begin to fidget hysterically. It is like being hit with the spray from a machine gun. Welcome the apocalypse of rock smiling at you from three lunatics who appear to thrash at their instruments more than to play them. But somehow they never loose continuity in this chaos of interwoven high speed-grooves. Don Vito does not need to follow the rules; the rules have learned to follow Don Vito.
Remarkably, they are free from genre and categorization. They have delightfully blended post-puberty carelessness with just a touch of self-irony. From now on, you will no longer have to think of that brainless wanker from Jackass when you hear the name Don Vito, but rather of that kick-ass band from the bowels of Germany.

Broken harmonies played on an oddly stringed toy guitar. Up tempo slap-back delay with jazzy-punky drum beats relayed through contact-mics. Pitched vocals and circuit-bent synthesisers recorded onto cassette tapes.
Lotti Sollevi (drums and vocals) & Julian Murray (guitar and vocals) are as influenced by the American No Wave scene as they are by European New Wave, and are drawn to traditional musical experiments from every corner of our world. Lizzy Mercier Descloux, Non Band, Renaldo and the Loaf, DNA and the releases of the Sublime Frequencies label, to mention just a few.
TVdE goes from minimal groove hits, to abstract blips and onto pitch-bended ballads with dada lyrics.
A third member of TVdE is Peter Larsson, who adds live visuals. Colourful, abstract and ”comic like” projections that interacts with the musicians and stage sculptures.
In spring 2015 TVdE will release their debut on 10” vinyl which will be a five track DIY recording via the labels Hockey Rawk and Oma333. Recorded by Linus Hillborg (Saigon) and mastered by Jonathan Dakers.

We Live In Trenches could well be the bastard offspring following a messy tryst involving The Rollins Band, Big Black, and Dead And Gone, such is the deep-rooted intensity that permeates each and every track on the band’s second album, Life crisis. The record pulsates with a nihilistic thunder, topped off with a bear-like growl exuding a rib-crushing threat which keeps me in a state of high alert throughout. The songs benefit from being well structured and, therefore, do not fall into the trap of getting lost in a repetitiveness that would dull its impact.
